These individuals will also be responsible for the quality, cleanliness and performance of all aspects of aquatics within the facility ensuring a welcoming and exceptional experience to members. We are seeking a dynamic individual who is ready to hit the ground running, work hard at developing new programs, engage our members, staff and program participants. This opportunity will need someone who is a creative and independent individual and must possess supervisory skills that will lead a staff team to perform consistently with a professional attitude. This position is an exempt/full time position. QualificationsMust be at least 21 years of ageBachelor’s degree in related field with minimum of 6 months FT experiencePrevious hiring, supervision & development of staffExperience with program design, development, implementation and retentionCurrent American Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard certifiedAll YMCA staff positions require certifications in CPR/AED-Professional Rescuer, First Aid and Oxygen Administration. Preferred candidates will have current certifications however training is available.Managed balanced department budget preferredCertified Pool Operator certified preferredExperience in Program and Volunteer Development preferredYMCA Team Leader Certification preferredEssential FunctionsRecruit, hire, train, and supervise part-time aquatic and water exercise staff, shift leaders, and a head lifeguard.Develop and implement a comprehensive, year round training plan for lifeguards, swim instructors, and water exercise staff to include prerequisites and opportunities for National YMCA certifications.Train and test staff in aquatic emergency procedures.Design promotional material which communicates the objectives and aquatic programs to the Association and community.Observe, review, and coach individual effectiveness of employees annually in a formalized basis.
