Aquatics Director YMCA 8,280 reviews – Westborough, MA Full-time, Part-timeUnder the direction of the Branch Director, the Aquatic Director is responsible for overseeing the management of the indor poolt and outdoor aquatics center by providing quality programs to YMCA members. The Aquatic Director will manage both full-time and part-time staff members by hiring, retaining, supervising, training and developing all aquatic staff. Qualifications Bachelors Degree with at least 3 years of experience both in the aquatic field and in supervision or 7 years experience with increasing responsibilities. Requires completion and maintaining certification as Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, Pool Operator and Aquatic Facilities Management. Essential FunctionsEnsure that the highest member service standards are constantly maintained in the aquatic department.Implement and supervise all aquatic programs and collaborations ensuring the highest quality and adherence to YMCA standards. Determine department procedures and workflow.Assume primary responsibility for the administration and supervision of all aquatic programsRecruit, hire, train, retain and evaluate qualified aquatic staff members. Maintain harmony among staff members and resolve grievances.Develop, monitor and achieve the aquatic budget. Accept responsibility for the control of expenditure and the production of income in line with the approved branch budget.Ensure appropriate staff coverage for all aquatic classes.Provides leadership and direction in the development of short and long-range plans. Gather, interpret and prepare date for studies, reports and recommendations. Coordinate department activities with other departments and agencies.Ensure all aquatic programs are entered and updated in the association computer system.Develop new programs to meet the needs of the Boroughs Branch membership and the Boroughs community.Actively teach 15-20 hours per week or as needed.Provide in-service training of staff on a regular basis to ensure the highest standards of safety and Risk Management.Ensure the highest standards for aquatic safety including Department of Public Health standards are constantly maintained.Ensure the Character Development Initiatives are implemented in the aquatic department.Obtain within 90 days of hire a CPR and First Aid Instructor certificationEnsure clear, concise and consistent information is communicated to members and staff.Play an active leadership role in the branch’s Annual Strong Kids Campaign and assist leadership in the successful completion of the campaign and other related special events and activities.Participate as requested in Association Service Center and branch committees, cabinets and task forces.Assume responsibility for the physical upkeep of the pool and department.Assist in any and all branch programs and activities at the request of the Branch Director and his/her supervisor.Other duties as assigned.Cause-Driven Leadership® Competencies Team Lader Required Certifications Requires completion and maintaining certification as Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, Pool Operator and Aquatic Facilities Management
