Aquatics Director (Part-time) Tilton/Meridian Fitness and Wellness – Hazlet, NJ Part-timeMeridian Fitness & Wellness in Hazlet, NJ is one of the most comprehensive fitness and wellness facilities in the region. With over 28,000 square feet of newly renovated fitness space, our Hazlet location has two Group Exercise Studios as well as private fitness studios for Spinning and Pilates Reformer. In addition, Meridian Fitness & Wellness Hazlet offers fully-equipped Small Group and Personal Training areas as well as cardiovascular and strength training floors featuring state-of-the-art equipment. Our Hazlet club is also home to a Junior Olympic aquatics center including an indoor 3 lane lap pool, whirlpool and dry sauna with bright and modern locker room facilities equipped with steam rooms. Meridian Fitness & Wellness Hazlet is family friendly offering youth programming, swim lessons and on-site babysitting at our Kids’ Club. We are also proud to provide access to on-site Wellness Coaches, Physical Therapists and a Medical Advisory Board who support our fitness professionals and offer Community Education Seminars to our members and guests. The Hazlet, NJ health and fitness club is currently seeking a part-time Aquatics Director to join its team. Qualified Aquatics Director applicants will be Lifeguard certified in the state of New Jersey. AQUATICS DIRECTOR MISSION: Manages the direction and performance of the Swim Instructors, Lifeguards and Aquatic Programs. Ensures that members’ safety is a first priority by providing knowledgeable, credentialed professionals and programs, and assisting with the maintenance and performance of the pool and accessories. Constantly work with Fitness Teams to create and maintain a sales culture.

REPORTS TO : General Manager SUPERVISES : Swim Instructors, Lifeguards.

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: · Optimize the experience of each member & guest during every visit to the club. · Meeting and exceeding Non-Dues Revenue goals · New Member Enrollment and Integration · Member Retention through proper launching of all new members and programming · Effective development and implementation of Aquatic programs for members. · Supplementary services and Program Development.

AQUATICS DIRECTOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES: · Using excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, officials, and all members. · Supervises aquatic staff including lifeguards, instructors, seasonal employees and maintenance staff. · Manages and supervises assigned operations to achieve goals within available resources. · Directs the patrolling of the pool and the enforcement of safety rules and regulations. · Plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments. · Selects, trains, motivates and evaluates assigned staff; reviews progress and directs changes as needed. · Provides leadership and direction in the development of short and long range plans. Gathers, interprets, and prepares data for studies, reports and recommendations. · Assures that assigned areas of responsibility are performed within budget, and performs cost control activities. ·Researches, plans and implements fee structures for aquatic facilities. · Plans, develops and implements aquatic programs and coordinates staff in the implementation of the programs. · Prepares for publication a variety of brochures, calendars, letters, posters, news releases, flyers, and related communications promoting aquatic programs and facilities with GM approval. · Reviews existing aquatic programs and revises or changes programs as needed with GM approval. · Schedules various aquatics competitions throughout the year. Approves the scheduling of all aquatic activities. · Responds to public inquiries about aquatics programs made by telephone, correspondence, or during business hours. · Promotes interest and provides information regarding aquatics programs to school officials, other recreation officials, community service groups, other departments, and the general public. · Oversees the basic maintenance of the swimming pool with the COO. · Assures that pools are in compliance with Environmental Improvement Division regulations. · Responsible for scheduling maintenance and repairs of the systems.
