The Malvern School – Glen Mills, PA 19342The Malvern School Day Camp (MDC) is hiring an Aquatics Swim Camp Director to develop and execute a variety of aquatics programs to meet the needs of the campers, in coordination with the total summer camp program. The hours of this full-time, seasonal position are from 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday. The Malvern Day Camp runs from June 12 to August 25, 2017. There are four mandatory training dates on May 20, June 3, June 7, and June 10. (Up to five days off will be honored, if needed). Responsibilities:Supervise and act as a resource for Lifeguards and Waterfront Specialists (Canoe/Kayak Counselors)Ensure schedules are followedMeet with your specialist team on a weekly basisTeach and monitor proper use of equipmentAssist and check all lesson plans for upcoming weekEstablish and maintain positive working relationships with your specialist teamEnsure the health and safety of campers under your care and supervision by following established Malvern Day Camppolicies and procedures Provide fun, educational and safe activities for campersUpkeep of equipment for each specialty areaServe as a positive role model to campersKeeps inventory and submits orders for equipment and suppliesRequirements:Lifeguard CertificationCurrent First Aid and CPR Certification (The Malvern School provides and pays for, if needed)Completed Background Checks (FBI, Child Abuse, Criminal) Mandate ReportingExperience with working in an aquatics settingExperience in teaching swim lessonsDocumented leadership trainingPrevious experience working with children, examples include but not limited to: tutoring, camp counselor, youth volunteer, or classroom assistantPrevious experience writing and checking weekly plansMinimum of 25 years of age
