El Cerrito Gators Swim Coach City of El Cerrito Swim Center – El Cerrito, CA 94530 $18.99 an hour – Part-timeGators Swim Coach (year-round) 15-20 hours per week (not to exceed 1,000 hours of employment annually). Eighteen years of age or older and one or more years experience coaching a youth swim team. Proficient knowledge and experience with proper competitive stroke mechanics, techniques, and safety skills. Responsible for goal setting, planning and running swim team workouts. Coordinate program, pool space and time with Aquatics Management, Evaluate each swimmer to ensure that they are properly performing strokes in a manner that is safe for him/her. Attend continuing education workshops and clinics, maintain certification and working knowledge of industry standards, rules and regulations. Motivate, teach and attract new membership to the program. Perform administrative tasks related to running program including taking daily attendance, monitoring enrollment, calling waitlist, scheduling tryouts and preparing monthly newsletters for team communication. Provide excellent customer service. Work at department and citywide special events. Other duties as assigned.Training/certification:Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certificate from the American Red Cross or equivalent organization, Lifeguard Training certification preferred.Certification from a nationally recognized competitive swimming organization such as USA Swimming or equivalent.American Red Cross Safety Training for Swim Coaches and/or American Red Cross Lifeguard Training.All staff are required to wear uniforms and may be required to work unusual hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Individuals chosen for hire must be able to pass continuous skill audits.
