The Job: Do you have a passion for top-notch customer service and love being around the pool? If so, this might be the role for you! As the Aquatics Assistant Manager, your role is to support the Aquatics Manager and all aquatics related operations. You will be responsible for carrying out the OFJCC’s mission to serve its members in the best fitness environment possible with a friendly and welcoming staff, clean facilities, and state-of-the-art equipment. You will be required to be fully knowledgeable of operational and emergency procedures, and ensure that the Aquatics team builds relationships with members and implement policies as outlined by the OFJCC. This position requires you to be flexible and adaptable, with broad operational knowledge and the ability to work seamlessly supporting the Aquatics Department in a variety of ways.

The Core Duties:

• Build relationships with members to provide a positive and welcoming environment
• Provide continuous training and development to ensure staff are knowledgeable in the latest policies and offerings, and have the confidence to properly implement these procedures with members and staff
• Assist with staff communication, schedule coverage and monthly in-services for the team
• Lifeguard, teach or coach when necessary to support the team and programming needs
• Solicit and respond to member and employee feedback, resolve disputes, and elevate cases to the Aquatics Manager, Assistant Director, Director or Senior Director when necessary
• Act as a first responder in events of injury or incident
• Support all Aquatic Programs through member communication, website updates, instructor training, participant progress reports, updating rosters and collecting payments

The Essentials:

• High School diploma/GED equivalent required
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
• At least 2 years’ lifeguarding experience required.
• At least 1 year swim instructor experience required.
• 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Lead by example with integrity and professionalism
• Strong organizational skills and customer-service oriented approach
• Current, accredited Lifeguarding Certification (includes CPR/AED and First Aid certification) or the ability to obtain the certification at the time of hire
• Preferred, but not required, Lifeguard Instructor (LGI) certification; Swim Coach certification; Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification
• Knowledge of Google applications and Microsoft Office applications
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
• Maintain confidentiality
• A passion for fitness and health with an upbeat and positive attitude!
• Punctuality and reliability is a must
• Strong listener with the ability to empathize and problem solve
• Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language
• Flexible schedule; able to work nights, weekends, early mornings, and holidays as needed
