Whether it’s just for recreation, learning to swim, or serious competition, the Y offers safe, healthy aquatics activities for kids and adults of all ages and abilities. The Aquatics Director is responsible for the development, planning, day-to-day operations and quality of all Aquatics Department programs. In addition to program management, the Director is responsible for staff supervision and staff development, administration, collaborative relationships, and fiscal management. The Aquatics Director will develop, grow, and expand programs within the Y and the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.

Starting Wage Range:
$35,735 – $44,650

Key Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Business Management, or related field OR equivalent experience is required. Experience in aquatics or recreation program management required. Strong background in human relations, budgeting, program management, and volunteer/staff development required. LGI and YSI and/or WSI certifications must be obtained within the first 90 days of hire. Additional certifications (i.e. lifeguard instructor trainer, water fitness instructor, First Aid/CPR Pro/Emergency O2 administration) are desired.

Physical Requirements:
Must have the ability to walk, bend, lean, kneel, swim, sit or stand while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time. Must have ability to work in wet, hot, loud, humid environments. Must be able to work in noisy areas up to 85dB.

Schedule Requirements:
This is a full-time position with a full benefits package. Typical hours are Monday-Friday, with some evening and weekend hours required for trainings and to meet the needs of our members, donors, and volunteers.
