HealthFitness has a great opportunity for an Aquatics Lead at our client site located in West Hartford, CT. In this role, you will be responsible for safety, member engagement, and the quality of our aquatics programs during your shifts. You’ll serve as a lifeguard and be responsible for pool deck maintenance and aquatic facility supervision. Monday-Friday schedule will include 2 opening shifts (6AM start), 2 closing shifts (ending at 8PM), and an afternoon shift. Located near Veteran’s Memorial Skating Rink and Buena Vista Golf Course.

What you’ll be doing:

• Monitor patrons using the facility and enforce/explain rules as necessary. Respond appropriately to any emergency situations.
• Track and monitor pool chemistry results and report facility issues to Aquatics Manager and General Manager.
• Provide leadership to facility cleaning, pool deck maintenance, and aquatic program supervision.
• Assist Aquatics Manager with staff communications and attend all required staff meetings and trainings. Provide customer service and communication with members.
• Maintain a professional and positive attitude.

What you’ll need:

• Lifeguard certification from American Red Cross or YMCA and 3+ years of Lifeguard experience.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications obtained either in person or hybrid from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ideal candidates will also have experience with one or more of the following: swim lesson instruction, WSI certification, pool chemistry.
• Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test. 
• Will be required to follow any current or future site COVID-19 vaccination policies including but not limited to proof of vaccination, weekly testing, etc.
