Full Time Aquatics Program Director

Would you like to share your passion for aquatics with others? Would you like to use your knowledge and skills to provide successful aquatics programs? As the aquatics program director, you will be responsible for organizing, monitoring, supervising, and maintaining aquatics programs at the Y.
If hired for this position you will provide an impactful member experience by designing, implementing, and evaluating programs, activities and events open to all members. You will ensure high quality member-focused aquatics programs by providing leadership and hands-on instruction in groups and on a one-on-one basis.
In this position you may be responsible for maintaining quality swim lessons, water fitness, swim team programs, adaptive programs, birthday parties, and lifeguard training. You will direct and supervise aquatics program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.

In this position you will be able to use your skills to:
Make great decisions:
o Establish new program activities and expand program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
o Manage and implement the approved program budget.
o Compile program statistics. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in program.
Provide quality results:
o Monitor daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations.
o May develop or assist in the marketing and distribution of program information, organize and schedule program registrations.
o Meet performance measurement through annual giving, major gifts, and/or endowment by telling the Y story and raising charitable dollars to fulfill our mission.
o Work with facilities staff to conduct and ensure proper maintenance of pools, as well as maintain accurate records of pool chemical levels and maintenance. Secure and schedule pool facilities.
o Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
o Work in collaboration with senior management to review and evaluate staff performance.
o Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule and direct staff and volunteers as needed.
o Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
o Support development and implementation of program specific volunteer training program. Assist staff in identifying productive and creative volunteer roles.
Are you a good fit?
- I have a Bachelor’s degree and/or two years related knowledge and experience.
- I have experience in supervision, fiscal management, program development, staff and volunteer development.
- I have experience in planning, organizing, and implementing age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
- I have demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communications, supervision, computer knowledge, and file maintenance.
- I have current Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certifications.
