We are seeking a Recreation Coordinator for Aquatics to be a part of the El Dorado Hills Community Services District which is recognized as the premier park, recreation, and local community services organization with a passion for providing excellent services and facilities and protecting the quality of life and environment of the community.

About the Position
The Recreation Coordinator supports our Aquatics program and performs professional work in the development and direction of a variety of aquatic activities designed to meet the needs and interests of the community. This position will oversee aquatic staff of Pool Managers, Head Guards, Swim Instructors, and Lifeguards during instruction and public swim hours. The Recreation Coordinator will also plan, promote, and direct aquatics programs and events for a wide variety of age groups, including American Red Cross Lifeguard Training classes, swim lessons, public swim, Junior Lifeguard program, pool rentals and swim clinics. This position also oversees and creates the scheduling of Pool Managers, Head Guards, Swim Instructors, and Lifeguards to ensure proper staffing levels during all hours of operation. This position will also have responsibilities that will include other Recreation programming areas outside of Aquatics.

Typical Qualifications
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Equivalent to completion of the twelfth (12th) grade, supplemented by 60 units of college level coursework in recreation, early education, liberal studies, physical education or a related field.

AND
Two (2) years of recreation program operational support experience.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid class C California driver’s license.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within 45 days of starting work.
  • Possession of a valid Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR and AED for the Professional Rescuer certificate issued by the American Red Cross, or ability to obtain within 45 days of starting work.
  • Possession of a Valid Title 22 First Aid for Public Safety Personnel certificate issued by the American Red Cross, or ability to obtain within 45 days of starting work.
  • Possession of an American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certificate, or ability to obtain within 45 days of starting work.
