POSITION SUMMARY:

The Association Executive Director of Aquatics and Safety supports and guides the Aquatics Program and safety for the Greater Somerset County YMCA. This role will collaborate with peers to drive the association vision for aquatics through collaboration, training, and aquatic leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Ensure alignment with association priorities and coordinate training, build in-service trainings and provide resources to aquatic directors.

· Lead efforts to identify, assess, and prioritize risks associated with aquatic and YMCA activities. Lead regular safety audits, drills, and in-service trainings to ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols.

· Drive program expansion and growth initiatives through strategic planning and implementation.

· Further our mission and values while intentionally advancing diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.

· Conduct regular risk assessments and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop mitigation plans.

· Develop, maintain, and model collaborative relationships with community agencies in the service delivery areas.

· Foster a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.

· Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in aquatic programs and services.

· Mitigate risk in all functions associated with aquatics, training, performance, safety checks, and daily operations.

· Responsible for maintenance of AEDs and other emergency/first aid equipment throughout the Y.

· Manage budget responsibilities, including forecasting, monitoring, and optimizing resources to achieve financial objectives.

· Provide supervision and guidance to assigned leaders, fostering a culture of teamwork, professional development, and excellence.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of aquatic leadership.

· Certifications in: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer, First Aid, Lifeguard and Instructor level for Lifeguarding

· Proficiency in Y swim lessons curriculum, and ability to attain certification to become a Y Swim Lesson Instruction trainer

· Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community; track record of building authentic, constructive relationships with others.

· Strong knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and industry standards.

· Strong organizational skills and professional demeanor.

· Blood borne Pathogens certification, or obtain within 60 days of hire

· Child Abuse Prevention Training within 30 days of hire
