The Full-time Facility Coordinator (Aquatics) is responsible for the day-to-day operations of aquatic lessons, water fitness programs, and health & safety classes. Assists with daily operations of the Kettering Recreation Complex main pool, spa, and Adventure Reef Water Park under the general direction of the Aquatics Supervisor. This is a key position in the Aquatics area and must be available for some evening and weekend Aquatics facility, program, and event management.  Supervise part-time management, lifeguard and water park staff to ensure that the day-to-day operations run smoothly; oversee health and safety programs in partnership with the Aquatics Supervisor; on department initiatives as assigned. The Coordinator will develop and maintain staff incentive/recognition programs to increase staff satisfaction and retention; assist with recruitment, selection, hiring, on-boarding, training, and development of instruction and lifeguard staff; and conduct meetings, trainings, and in-services for instruction and lifeguard staff. Regular and predictable on-site attendance including early mornings, weeknights and weekends throughout the year required.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Aquatic Operations Coordinator candidates must have an aquatic background with emphasis on staff-related experience; and possess strong organizational and written communication skills. Candidate will be self-motivated with strong leadership qualities and must be a team player with strong initiative, and enthusiastic approach to management and enjoy working with people of all ages. American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR certifications required. AFO or CPO certification preferred. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff members, volunteers and the general public.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Pay ranges from $18.39 up to $24.40 per hour, with entry rate contingent upon the applicant’s related skills, knowledge and abilities. Comprehensive Benefits include medical and dental insurance, attractive retirement plan, vacation leave, sick leave, holiday pay and other fringe benefits.
