Lead Lifeguard, Bentonville, AR

Walmart’s Walton Life Fitness Center, managed by HealthFitness, is hiring for a full-time Lead Lifeguard. In this role, you’ll report to the Aquatics Director and perform all the critical duties of a Lifeguard while taking on additional departmental responsibilities and supervision. Key job functions include specialty program coordination, facility supervision, assisting with program administration, staff training, and certification. Schedule is Tuesday-Friday Noon-8:30PM & Saturdays 10AM-5:30PM. What You’ll Do:

• Monitor aquatic facilities patrons and ensuring their safety and well-being. Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
• Quick handling of all injuries/incidents that occur in the Aquatic Center during shift and completing incident/accident reports. Administer first aid.
• Perform chemical testing and documents results for three bodies of water and a hot tub, 4x daily.
• Collaborate with the Aquatics Director in the implementation of programs and initiatives.
• Assist in lifeguard training, certification and recertification for the Aquatics Center. Help provide on-boarding and development of aquatics staff.
• Attend all required staff meetings and training.
• Maintain a professional attitude.
• Additional duties as needed/assigned.

What’s in your swim backpack?

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Lifeguarding with CPR/AED/First Aid for Professional Rescuers certification required.
• Lifeguard Instructor certification required. If not current, must obtain within 1 year of hire and HealthFitness will assist with costs of obtaining certification.
• Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards. Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.
• Ideal candidates will have guarded in an aquatic facility and have experience in pool water testing and cleaning.
• Able to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.

All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of: 500-yard swim; Active, Passive, Submerged rescues; Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water; Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.
