Lead Swim Instructor – Cambridge, MA

Onsite & full-time, 30-40 hours per week

Harvard Recreation, managed by HealthFitness, is looking for an experienced Lead Swim Instructor to join the Aquatics Team in Cambridge, MA. In this role, you will be providing effective and safe swim instruction to adults & children participating in private or small group lessons. Our swim instructors design lesson plans that are individualized to meet the participants’ interests, abilities, and goals. Outside of lessons & classes, you’ll assist with administrative tasks related to the swim instruction program and provide general leadership to the part-time teaching staff. Other duties as needed/assigned. Varied Monday-Friday schedule approx. 9AM-5PM or 11AM-7PM.

What you’ll need to have:

• Must be at least 18 years old & possess 5+ years of swim lesson teaching experience.
• Adult & Child CPR/AED/First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required.
• WSI Certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Proficiency in all swim strokes and experience teaching all age groups and levels.
• Be dependable, alert, and able to communicate and interact with people of all ages in a positive and effective manner.
• Exhibit patience and have quality interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and energetic with the ability to self-motivate and motivate others.
