Pool Manager & Assistant Pool Managers

Brookside Swim Club, Milltown, NJ – Open positions include Pool Manager and assistant pool managers for the 2023 Summer season. Brookside is a member owned facility with a focus on a family environment and youth aquatics.  Qualified candidates will thrive in an outside environment and be highly focused on providing safety, hospitality, organization and supervision.

General Purpose:
Manage the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and administration at Brookside’s facility. Manage the hiring, training, scheduling, testing, and certification of lifeguards.  Provide exceptional customer service for members.   Develop and implement various aquatic programs and other club youth activities along with social directors and swim coaches. Ensures that all appropriate water health and safety standards are maintained.

Essential Duties:

• Provide a comfortable, safe pool environment for Members and Guests. Interaction with members and children is critical to success at the position.
• Manage, maintain, and coordinate the recruitment, training, scheduling, certifications (lifeguard/CPR certification), and performance of employees of the facility; supervise the day-to-day activities of staff and pool custodial employees
• Coordinate the maintenance of the pools, to include chemistry, climate control, cleanliness, and related maintenance.
• Ensures that all appropriate water, environmental, health and safety standards are maintained; ensures pools are compliant with all local and state requirements and current on all necessary certifications required for operation.
• Develop, implement, and oversee a variety of aquatics programs for all member groups including social events, party rentals and swim lessons.
• Develop and maintain records of operational facility usage; monitor and maintain inventories of pool equipment and supplies.
• Order supplies, chemicals, food & beverages and maintain inventory.
• Oversee snack bar sales and proper point of sales operations.
• Pre-season facility operations required.
• Assist in pool closing at the end of the season.
• Ensure daily opening and closing checklists are complete.
• Ensure all members and guests are properly logged in and up to date.
• Manages facility to prevent nonmembers from entering.
• Coordinate with swim coaches for scheduling and safety.
• Coordinate with swim lessons instructors and properly bill the members.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Work with Board of Directors to execute a successful operation.

Requirements:

• At least three years of work experience in aquatics.
• Lifeguard Certification
• CPR/AED Certification
• National Swimming Pool Foundation Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility

Other qualifications:

• Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
• Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
• Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
• Ability to supervise and train lifeguards, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Positions paid hourly

Head manager beginning at $22 per hour, assistant managers beginning at $15 per hour depending on experience.
