This is a great opportunity to be a part of a team with room to grow.Reporting: The LAGC will work under the guidance and supervision of the Head Swim Coach (HC).Essential Functions & Tasks:Have the ability to instruct, evaluate, and demonstrate proper stroke techniques in all four competitive strokes.Provide swimmers with the techniques, tools and strategies to be successful in competitive swimmingLead, create, and implement a training program for all group(s) under the HC’s supervisionCoach training groups as designated by the HCAssist and advise HC in developing and implementing education programs for both swimmers and parents in the AGS programHelp create a well-rounded plan that integrates the team’s goals (reaching Zones, Sectionals, Jr. Nationals, etc.)Ability to effectively communicate goals and progressions to swimmers and parents.Develop a dryland routine incorporating a balance of core work, muscular endurance, strength and power.Conduct workouts (dryland and swim) 4 to 6 days per week Monday to Friday approximate hours 5:00-8:00 PM / Saturday afternoonsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailPositive outlook, enthusiasm and care for the well-being of swimmers.Assist Head Coach with administrative tasks relating to the team including swim meet arrangements and team performance as well as communications with parents.Experience coaching specific levels of age group swimmers (7-18 years old)Oversee individual and team entries (upload event info, submit entries and send out any relevant meet information) for meets.The ability to work with the entire coaching staff to build a uniform system.Passion and enthusiasm for competitive swimming and a “desire to excel” professionally.Long Term OpportunitiesNAAC is currently transitioning to a year-round program and the LAGC is viewed as an integral part to making both the individual components and overall program a success.Desired Qualifications.Minimum 2 years prior coaching experience as a USA Swimming certified coach.American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) Level 3 or above preferred.Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.Current Red Cross Lifesaving (Safety Training for Swim Coaches), First Aid/CPR, and Lifeguard certification.Ability to pass Pennsylvania and USA Swimming background check and Athlete Protection TrainingMember in good standing with USA Swimming.About NAACNorristown Area Aquatic Club (NAAC) is a 501(c)(3) Non-profit competitive swimming & diving team that swims in the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL) for Dual Meets and has just restarted the USA Swimming program. The NAAC offers instruction, training, and competition for young people from 5 to 18 and abilities. We have over 80 swimmers and practice out of the Norristown Area High School.
