Lifeguard Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center – La Jolla, CA $11.50 – $14.00 an hour – Part-time Position: Lifeguard I-II

Reports to: Aquatics Director Salary: $11.50-14 Hourly Part Time Position

Summary:Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, the lead lifeguard is responsible for the safety of members and participants in and around the aquatic facility. Prevent potential accidents by adhering to policies set forth by the American Red Cross and the JCC Aquatics team for members and non- members of the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, Friedenberg Olympic Pool.

Essential Duties:Practice preventative techniques at all times. Perform appropriate rescues when necessaryPerform pool related maintenance dutiesResolve any pool related conflictsKnow pool rules and educate participants of themAnswer general information questions about the aquatics facility

Other Duties: Attend in service trainings as scheduledParticipate in random and scheduled lifeguards drillsPerform opening/closing dutiesComplete additional duties as assigned by supervisorQualifications:Must be at least 16 years oldCurrent Certificates required- American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First-Aid certification, American Red Cross Blood Pathogen, American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

Note: All Certificates Must be submitted along with applicants resume, front and back images are required of each document.Responsible to keep all licenses up to date.Physical Demands :Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to supervise program activities.Ability to see and hear individuals and alarms in pool/pool area.Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.Ability to lift 30 lbs.Ability to pull pool covers ranging 30-50lbs Ability to perform activities which require sustained concentration and attention.
