Oakley Country Club, located in Watertown, MA, is a Member owned Country Club with approximately 500 members. The pool is open 7 days per week from Memorial Day to Labor Day Key Relationships Reports to: General Manager Direct Reports: Assistant Pool Director, Pool Attendants, Head Lifeguard; Swimming Instructors; Lifeguards Position
Responsibilities Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates staff. Formulates weekly work schedules and rotation schedules for all pool employees. Purchases pool chemicals. Maintains proper chemical balance in pools and maintains mechanical equipment in coordination with the club’s maintenance department. Maintains correct payroll records. Registers members at pool and charges for all guests, lessons, etc. Provides necessary orientation and training for pool staff. Enforces club rules of safety and conduct. Plans and directs Swim Team special events in conjunction with the Catering Director. Arranges a program of and schedule for private and group swim and diving lessons. Represents the club in activities as required. Manages to an annual operating and staffing budget and take corrective actions as necessary to ensure that budget goals are attained. Maintains and keeps all necessary records concerning pool attendance, pool chemicals, accident reports, problem-member reports, lifeguard and instructor schedules, etc. Develops and implements pool safety program. Assists in pool opening and closing at the beginning and end of season. Provides aquatics-related information for club newsletter. Effectively communicates pool related information to Departments Heads as necessary (General Manager, Facilities Director, Food and Beverage Director, Catering Director) Manages pool area lost and found articles. Manages pool area, including Restrooms and changing rooms, for cleanliness. Maintains presence during special pool events. Coaches swim and schedules swim meets for a very active team. Operates pool and surrounding area in compliance with OSHA requirements; maintains all necessary MSDSs. Attends staff meetings as required. Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the General Manager. Candidate Requirements – Personal Characteristics Certifications – Certified Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor – WSI, Pool Operator Certification, CPR/AED Certification & First Aid Certification Significant understanding of working within a member-driven environment where consistent enhancement of the member experience is essential Professional desire to impart knowledge of both sports to participants at all levels is critical Even keeled individual with the ability to manage by influence. A mature professional for whom a commitment to detail, and fastidious organizational detail is both second nature a first priority Compensation A competitive compensation package consisting of base salary based on 16 weeks, ancillary income will be provided for the selected individual.
