Columbus Consolidated Government – Columbus, GA $8.15 an hour – Part-timePerforms lifeguard and first aid skills in accordance with the appropriate certifications, enforcing facility rules and regulations, communicate with patrons, opening/closing procedures, keep up with chemicals, water tests, serve as example for entire staff, be at pool to open or close pool, supervise pool staff, handle money. Creates work schedules, work closely with assistant pool manager, fill out weekly reports, file all reports in a timely manner, trouble shoot with computers, staff, and patrons. Pool Managers shall attend all required meetings or send a representative, if unable to make any meeting. Pool Managers is ultimately responsible for everything that occurs at the pool facility and must be available at all times, through issued pager, from opening day to closing day. Must be available to teach or assist in teaching swim lessons, if necessary. Carries out a continuous effort to improve operations, work processes; and works cooperatively and jointly to provide continuous improvement and customer-driven service. Performs other related duties as assigned.Must be available to teach or assist in teaching swim lessons, if necessary. Managers must be at pool facility 15 minutes prior to the start of his/her schedule. This position is seasonal and for outdoor pools. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of water testing and creating rotation schedule. Knowledge of pool safety rules. Skill in leadership.Skill in problem solving and decision-making. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in all related required American Red Cross certifications. Minimum Educational and Training Requirements: Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age, presently in high school, have a high school diploma or GED, or any combination of education, training and experience, which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job. Have up-to-date Lifeguard, First aid, CPRO, AED, and Oxygen certifications. Water Safety Instructor (WSI), Lifeguard Instructor (LGI), or USA Swim Coach certification required. Must possess leadership abilities. Must be able to communicate with patrons and ability to handle stressful situations. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable means of transportation. Physical Requirements: While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee must work outside and stand for extended periods of time as well as lift heavy objects, if necessary. He/she must be aware and active in emergency situations, and if necessary, perform daily maintenance of pool facility.
