Swim Coach Wanted Chicago Blue Dolphins – Chicago, IL $15 an hour – Part-timeChicago Blue Dolphins is looking for coaches living in downtown Chicago to help us reach more clients. Chicago Blue Dolphins is an aquatic fitness business that delivers state-of-the-art instruction and training to people of all ages and skill levels: from infant to seniors, from newbies to advanced competitive swimmers and triathletes.We want coaches interested in learning more about swimming, sharpening their teaching and swimming skills, and to being part of a great team of coaches executing a time-tested, world-class teaching system to our swimmers.Compensation:Swim Coaching and Lifeguarding: $15-20/hour with opportunities for quarterly raises and bonusesNon-Client Facing Internal or In-Service Training and Staff Meetings: $10/hourAdministrative/Office Work (if available): $11/hourInstructor Requirements:You must enjoy teaching and being in the water. Experience in swim instruction or club coaching is a plusYou must be reliable, punctual, have a strong work ethic, good verbal communication skills, and deliver outstanding customer serviceYou must hold a current Red Cross Lifeguarding/CPR/First Aid certification or complete the certification within 3 months of your start dateYou must “competition-legal” in the four competitive strokes. You don’t need to be a former Olympian but you do need to be able to “walk the walk.”You must follow the lesson plans, drills/exercises, documentation, and other protocols of the CBD method when teaching lessons, classes, or group swim practicesMust be at least 19 years of ageHours and Availability:This is a part-time job with up to 15-20 hours of teaching per weekOffice and lifeguarding hours are possibly available (in addition to 15-20 hours of teaching)Our busiest hours for teaching are weekday mornings (9-12pm), the weekday afternoons (3-9pm), and on weekends (all day). Flexibility in a combination of these shifts is highly desirableYou are required to attend a biweekly staff meeting on Wednesdays 7:30-8:30pm. The purpose of the staff meeting is to communicate company information, resolve client and facility issues, and conduct in-service training. You are not guaranteed additional work hours on those daysVacations and personal time-off must be approved at least 3 weeks in advance in order to ensure that subs are available and private clients get advanced noticeInstructor consistency is critical for the learning process, so our instructors must not take off more than 3 times on a given workday during a single business season (January-April, May-August, September-December).
