Head Coach- Swim TeamDescription: The Swim Coach is responsible for the planning, implementation and oversight of the Barracuda Swim Team Program. The Swim Team Coach is responsible for planning and delivering a quality competitive swim program in which participants improve swimming skills, learn about healthy competition, and develop teamwork and leadership skills in a safe, supportive and fun environment. The swim coach is also responsible for all record keeping, RIMA league communication, and supervision of assistant coaches.Job RequirementsDemonstrated knowledge of principles related to development of youth between 5 and 18 years of age.Knowledge and understanding of developmental swim levels and swim skill progression.Experience in competitive swimmingStrong communication skills both oral and written are required.Current certification in Lifeguarding and CPR/AEDExperience teaching swim lessons and/or coaching swimWater Safety Instructor certification preferredAvailability for weeknight practices (Monday-Thursday, 5:30-8:00), Saturday swim meets, and special events.Job ResponsibilitiesOrganize and lead practices, swim meets, team building events, and parent meetings.Ensure youth are safe and behaving according to the rules.Maintain pool safety and swim team equipment.Attend all RIMA league meetings.Organize and prepare meet line-up.Oversee assistant swim coaches.Enforce rules consistently and fairly.Fill out reports and records, including; incidents, attendance, swim meet line up/results.Interacts politely with facility patrons and acts as a role model for young children.Attends all meetings and training sessions for the aquatic facility staff.Physical Requirements/Work Environment:Ability to pass lifeguard test requirements.Ability to demonstrate and teach competitive swim strokes, starts, and turns.Most tasks will take place in pool, on pool deck, and in surrounding Club areas.Terms of Employment :The swim season runs Mid-September through March.
