The Position: The City of Campbell Recreation and Community Services Department is seeking an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and experienced Swim Team Coach for Campbell Wave Swim Team Senior Group at the Campbell Community Center. Responsibilities: This position reports to the Aquatics Recreation Specialist and is responsible for swim team coordination with Aquatics Recreation Specialist. This position prepares and implements work-outs; tracks and encourages team enrollment; maintains various records; organizes and attends swim meets; evaluates stroke technique; assists with budget preparation; has thorough knowledge of emergency response protocol, risk management and emergency care; complies and enforces all City of Campbell and Campbell Recreation and Community Services Department policies and procedures. The essential functions of employment include: Assistance in developing, organizing and supervising daily operations and practices; assistance in evaluating Campbell Wave swim team program; documentation including daily participant attendance; planning, execution and evaluation of swim meet participation; professional interaction and effective communication with children, swimmers and the general public. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum age at time of hire is 18 years old Two (2) or more years of swim coaching experience Valid California Driver’s license Current CPR certification Safety Training for Swim Coaches or Lifeguard Training certification TB Clearance Fingerprint clearance (Department of Justice background check). Physical Requirements: While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee must work outside and stand for extended periods of time as well as lift heavy objects, if necessary.
